Some of my favourites

Ghalib ka kalam

1) Yeh kahan ki dosti hai ki bane hain dost naseh
Koi charasaz hota, koi gamgusar hota

Translation : Who needs a friend when all he gives a counsel and advice? For what I need from a friend is cure for my pain and healing for my ill.

2) Na tha kuch to khuda tha, kuch na hota to khuda hota
Duboya mujhko hone ne, na hota main to kya hota

Translation : When there was nothing there was God. If there would be nothing there still would be God. The cause of all my woes is the fact of being. Indeed what would have mattered had I not been?

3) Bas ki dushwar hai har kaam ka aasan hona.
Aadmi ko bhi mayassar nahin insan hona.

Translation : How can everything become so easy? And so it is indeed difficult for a man to become human being.

4) Koi din gar jindagani aur hai
Apne je mein hamne thani aur hai

Translation : If I were given this life for some more days, I have decided I would live it some other way.

Khoobsoorat! Yaar Poojaa, maine toh kabhi socha bhi nahi tha! tune toh sach mein Naklistan mein 'Noor' laya hain! Bahot badhiya!
I liked 'em all, especially the second one. And if u like Mirza Ghalib's Shayari, then u'll love Rumi's poems too! ofcourse, they dont call 'em poems but "Kalma". I've many of Rumi's poems, written in Persian, translated in English and Hindi. Will post em someday. The poem at the bottom of the blog is one of them.
Keep it up Poojaa. Im patting myself on the back for bringing you to Naklistan!

Kya alfaz thei.....

Subhanallah......

Poojaa, do you know, this is the reason why we have you onboard. LOL. You have the uncanny knack of producing something that is just brilliant. Superb job done. Loved all the shayiris.

Do you remember you had said that you cannot write humorous stuff, see you are very much capable of it and whats more, you made everyone take their hats off to you. Just keep doing it. I know these are not YOUR shayiris, but you did have the presence of mind to put them on the blog. That counts a lot. See, me and the supergenious here, did have something similar to this on our computers, but what we lacked was the presence of mind to put it on the blog.

Poojaa, if shayiris do interest you then you would be glad to know that in our library we have two books detailing the works of the genious called Mirza Galib. I read the first book, couldn’t find the second one when I went to look for it. Was never gonna let this secret out, but I am sure this blog is not visited by more than three people, so it doesn’t make a difference. LOL. I am on the look out for the second book. Do go through them if you please.

Keep it up.
